    Combustion chamber

    A combustion chamber is a closed or partially closed space in which gases are burned in a controlled manner. It reduces visible flames and can direct emissions more precisely.

    GWP20

    The Global Warming Potential over 20 years, or GWP20 for short, describes the climate impact of a greenhouse gas over a 20-year period relative to CO₂.

    CO₂ has a reference value of 1. Methane has a significantly stronger impact than CO₂ over this short period; according to IPCC AR6, the GWP20 value for fossil methane is approximately 82.5. Therefore, the controlled combustion of methane in a flare system can significantly reduce the short-term climate impact compared to direct methane release.

    High flare

    A high-altitude flare burns gases at a greater height so that heat, flames, and exhaust gases are safely removed from the work area.

    IIA

    Explosion Group IIA refers to gases with relatively low ignition propagation capability. Equipment rated for IIA may only be used in explosion-hazardous areas approved for that purpose.

    IIB

    Explosion Group IIB includes gases with a higher ignition penetration capability than those in Group IIA. As a result, the requirements for explosion-protected equipment and components are more stringent.

    IIC

    Explosion group IIC includes highly flammable gases such as hydrogen and acetylene. The most stringent requirements for explosion-proof equipment apply to these areas.

    IEC

    IEC stands for “International Electrotechnical Commission.” The organization develops international standards in the fields of electrical engineering, automation, and explosion protection.

    Mobile flare system

    A mobile flare system is used for the safe and controlled combustion of gases during maintenance, shutdown, or pressure relief operations at industrial facilities. It is used on a temporary basis and can be operated flexibly at various locations.

    NEMA

    NEMA stands for “National Electrical Manufacturers Association.” The organization establishes technical standards, particularly for electrical components, enclosure classes, and industrial applications.

    Pilot burner

    A pilot burner produces a small, steady flame that can be used to safely ignite the main gas flow.

    Pinch valve

    A pinch valve shuts off or regulates flow by compressing a flexible tube. It is particularly suitable for abrasive, contaminated, or difficult-to-handle fluids.

    Carrier gas

    Support gas is used to stabilize combustion in a flare system, improve ignitability, or prevent undesirable operating conditions. Depending on the application, it can, for example, be used to stabilize the flame or aid in gas combustion.

    Ignition System

    An ignition system ignites the escaping gas in a controlled manner at the flare or burner.
